Cron PST to UTC

Convert cron job schedules from PST to UTC timezone.

Timezone Offset

+8 hours

PST (UTC-8) → UTC (UTC+0)

Conversion Examples

To run a job at a specific PST time, use the UTC expression below:

Target time (PST) Cron in UTC Equivalent UTC time
Midnight PST0 8 * * *8 AM
9 AM PST0 17 * * *5 PM
Noon PST0 20 * * *8 PM
5 PM PST0 1 * * *1 AM (next day)

How to Use

If your server runs in UTC but you want jobs to execute at PST times:

  1. Take your desired PST hour
  2. Add 8 hours
  3. If result is negative, add 24 (job runs previous day)
  4. If result is 24 or more, subtract 24 (job runs next day)

Important Notes

  • Standard cron has no timezone support - it uses the server's local time
  • Day boundaries: When converting crosses midnight, the day also changes
  • DST: Consider daylight saving time - offsets may change by 1 hour seasonally
  • Kubernetes & cloud platforms: Many support explicit timezone configuration
