All Timezone Conversions
Cron EST to PST
Convert cron job schedules from EST to PST timezone.
Timezone Offset
-3 hours
EST (UTC-5) → PST (UTC-8)
Conversion Examples
To run a job at a specific EST time, use the PST expression below:
| Target time (EST) | Cron in PST | Equivalent PST time |
|---|---|---|
| Midnight EST | 0 21 * * * | 9 PM (previous day) |
| 9 AM EST | 0 6 * * * | 6 AM |
| Noon EST | 0 9 * * * | 9 AM |
| 5 PM EST | 0 14 * * * | 2 PM |
How to Use
If your server runs in PST but you want jobs to execute at EST times:
- Take your desired EST hour
- Subtract 3 hours
- If result is negative, add 24 (job runs previous day)
- If result is 24 or more, subtract 24 (job runs next day)

Important Notes
- Standard cron has no timezone support - it uses the server's local time
- Day boundaries: When converting crosses midnight, the day also changes
- DST: Consider daylight saving time - offsets may change by 1 hour seasonally
- Kubernetes & cloud platforms: Many support explicit timezone configuration
