Cron AEST to UTC

Convert cron job schedules from AEST to UTC timezone.

Timezone Offset

-10 hours

AEST (UTC+10) → UTC (UTC+0)

Conversion Examples

To run a job at a specific AEST time, use the UTC expression below:

Target time (AEST) Cron in UTC Equivalent UTC time
Midnight AEST0 14 * * *2 PM (previous day)
9 AM AEST0 23 * * *11 PM (previous day)
Noon AEST0 2 * * *2 AM
5 PM AEST0 7 * * *7 AM

How to Use

If your server runs in UTC but you want jobs to execute at AEST times:

  1. Take your desired AEST hour
  2. Subtract 10 hours
  3. If result is negative, add 24 (job runs previous day)
  4. If result is 24 or more, subtract 24 (job runs next day)

Important Notes

  • Standard cron has no timezone support - it uses the server's local time
  • Day boundaries: When converting crosses midnight, the day also changes
  • DST: Consider daylight saving time - offsets may change by 1 hour seasonally
  • Kubernetes & cloud platforms: Many support explicit timezone configuration

Stop timezone headaches
